17th Century Olive Oyster Lace Box
Charming and original 12” olive oyster lace box, circa 1680-90.
It is most likely that this gorgeous piece was commissioned during the short reign of William and Mary (1689-1702). This was a great time in British furniture design with some of the most notable pieces to date being commissioned. However, all the credit cannot simply go to the indigenous as a large influx of skilled craftsman flooded in from the continent such as, Daniel Marrot (1661-1752) a French Protestant architect,
The curiously named ‘lace box’ or ‘bible box’ veneered in oyster cut hardwoods such as olive and Kingwood were popular amongst the middle and higher classes of society from C.1660-1700.

19th-Century Quarter-striking Carriage Clock by Leroy, Paris
The gilt-brass, so-called corniche case has bevelled glass panels on all sides so that the movement is entirely visible. It is surmounted by a shaped carrying handle. The white enamel dial has a Roman chapter ring, with Arabic five-minute and minute divisions.

A superb large French brass lantern of Louis XV style, 19th century. The five light chandelier within a cylindrical lantern cast with scrolling acanthus, shells and vase-shaped finials with serpentine glazed panels, fitted for electricity.

IMPORTANT DESIGN – A fine early 18th-century gilt gesso mirror of generous proportions retaining its original shaped and bevelled mirror plate. The frame expresses great freedom through its carving with scrolling leaves adorning the frame centred by an elaborate three-dimensional cartouche.
Chinese Cloisonne Enamel Censer Modelled as a Crane 18/19th Century Qing Dynasty
The characterful and charming 18/19th-century cloisonne enamel censer, is modelled as a crane with straight gilt-metal legs, realistically detailed feet and claws, standing on a detailed gilt base. The neck gracefully curved above the plump hollow body brightly enamelled in turquoise.
George III Mahogany Wine Cooler, Cellarette
Superb George III mahogany wine cooler or cellarette on stand. The cellarette is in fabulous original condition with a lovely rich patina. Lovely well-patinated flame of mahogany to the top, with a line rope inlayed stringing of holly and box. Original led lined interior divided into four sections.
