18th Century George II Mahogany pie crust Tripod Table, Circa 1760
Retaining an old trade label for the renowned London dealers Norman Adams of Hans Road, one of the great names of the English antique furniture trade.
An elegant and typically Georgian George III mahogany tripod table of superb colour and wonderfully untouched surface.
The beautifully figured single-piece top with crisp pie-crust edge above a finely turned baluster column raised on elegant cabriole legs terminating in pad feet.
The table retains excellent rich colour and deep patination throughout and survives in remarkably honest condition with beautiful wear exactly where one would hope to see it.
The proportions are especially pleasing and the table possesses a wonderful lightness and elegance.
A highly decorative and extremely versatile piece, equally suited as a lamp table, wine table or occasional table.
