A beautifully patinated 12″ George III bronze sundial by Watkins & Smith, 1763-1774. London

The sundial is signed by the makers, Watkins & Smith.

The Maker
Francis Watkins the elder and Addison Smith, who was Watkins apprentice, worked at 5 Charing Cross. The partnership of Watkins and Smith only ran for a short while between 1763 and 1774.
