A George II Burr Yew Caddy Chest of Drawers, Circa 1730-1740
A fine and extremely rare George II burr yew wood caddy chest of drawers, circa 1730, England.
The cockbeaded, oak lined drawers are veneered to the fronts in richly figured burr yew, of exceptional colour, each framed within crossbanded borders.
The caddy moulded top is beautifully quarter veneered, crossbanded and further bordered with delicate ebony and boxwood inlay.
The original gilt brass open fret handles and escutcheons remain in situ, together with the original locks, all beautifully patinated and entirely in keeping with the period.
The chest stands proudly on its original shaped bracket feet.
It should be noted that caddy chests such as this veneered in burr yew are extremely rare.

Good. Wear consistent with age and use. In original condition including all brass furniture, locks and bracket feet.
