A Large George II Wool and Silk Needlework Cushion/Pillow circa 1740. England

An attractive George II wool and silk needlework cushion, worked in gros and petit point with a central figure of Minerva within an elaborate foliate border, on a dark ground. The cushion is finished with a rope-twist edge and has likely been adapted from an early 18th-century chair back, displaying fine quality workmanship and good colour throughout.
