A fine George III mahogany linen press in outstanding original condition. The press was obviously made to exceed with the cabinetmaker using only the very finest materials in an extravagant manner. An example of this extravagance can be seen on every angle

Linen-presses were made chiefly in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries and are now considered decorative examples of antique furniture. A superb 17th century olive oyster lace box from the reign of King Charles II, circa 1675-85. Geometric patterns adorn the selected and book-matched hand cut olive oysters to the top which is beautifully inlaid with fine boxwood stringing, cross-banded and edged with cross grain mouldings, all in figured olive.
