From the restoration of the British Monarchy (1670-1685) we bring to you this charming walnut and marquetry cushion mirror depicting spring flowers and scrolling fleur-de-lis inside ebony and box strung break-arch reserves, on an ebony ground. Literature: A similar example of this early form of marquetry can be seen at Levens Hall, which was most likely supplied by Thomas Pistor to farther or son to James Grahme.
