19th Century Eight-Day Miniature Gilt-Brass Carriage Clock with Original Case

A charming late 19th century French engraved miniature oval carriage clock with original travelling case.

The original silvered and brass platform escapement is visible through an oval window at the top. The clock is surmounted by a shaped and engraved carrying handle. To the reverse is a full-length door allowing access to the movement.

The rectangular white enamel dial has a Roman chapter ring with five-minute and minute divisions. The time is indicated by a pair of finely cut blued-steel hands.

The eight-day single barrel movement has a silvered cylinder platform escapement with hairspring balance and regulation.
