Queen Anne Period Walnut Corner Chair, Circa 1702-1714

Queen Anne period walnut corner chair, 1702-1714.

It is solid walnut, raised on four boldly carved cabriole legs with C-scrolls and pad feet. The seat is known as bell-shaped. The solid walnut carved horseshoe crest rail is raised by three architectural columns and figured walnut shaped back splats.

It should be noted that this is an extremely accomplished and rare example.

Condition

Good. Repaired. Wear consistent with age and use. It has many historic repairs including a metal bracket to the internal of the front leg and one to the superstructure but they do not detract.
